TELL ME?

The name “Tell Me” first came about when founder Uznea started pairing wines to people’s moods at her various pop ups and sommelier jobs.  You’re feeling stoic?  She has just the wine.  Somewhere around that time, she was invited to be a “wine advice” columnist for the niche natural wine publication The Wine Zine, where she would do the same.  Over time Tell Me also became a reference to the speakeasy-like vibe of all the projects she was involved in: You had to be told, to be in the know or to find it.  If you have ever been to The Tell Me Bar in person, you’ll know it has just this sense, as it is tucked away under the Crescent City Connection and around a corner you would only want to come down if you if you were desperate for natural wine and immaculate vibes.

If you want a mood pairing she, or any person working behind the bar, is happy to help you find your wine.

FOUNDERS / OWNERS

Uznea Bauer

Uznea’s wine mentor at Bacchanal used to say ‘wine chooses you’; as if the path was chosen for one by the fates. Indeed it’s mysterious, sensual law has kept her an intrigued devotee ever since… first as the wine director there, subsequently in winemaking internships in France & Oregon, and eventually as the co-host of various experimental residencies & wine pop-ups around New Orleans. Alongside Cory & Tyler she evolved those times into what is now The Tell Me Bar.

Cory Cartwright

Cory once drank a bottle of wine that changed his life so much that he left his job and started a wine importing company. He’s still chasing that feeling and THE TELL ME BAR is the current part of that journey.

Tyler Robinson

Tyler is a New Orleans fixture with a passion for food, wine, and all the beauty of the world.
